The Hive Free Lunch has partnered with Marche Commun, Concordia Food Community, and Moisson Montreal to provide Concordia students weekly pre-made vegan meal baskets, via our Meals on Wheels Program. Each basket will be prepared and packaged in-house by the HFLP team. Baskets will contain 2-3 vegan, nut free meals, with gluten free options available!
*Have other allergies, please contact directly to see if accommodations can be made.
Like a lot of other social food programs, the Hive Free Lunch Program (HFLP) has also been greatly impacted by the pandemic. Since closing our doors on March 13th , our team has been working with the Univeristy to develop a COVID-safe meal program which will continue to serve the Concordia community.
COMING SOON! The HFLP will be offering a FREE Meals on Wheels service, where students can sign up for a warm meal basket, containing pre-made vegan dishes delivered right to your doorstep, with pick-up option available!
Our goal with the Meals on Wheels program, is to continue serving the Concordia Community, while respecting social distancing guidelines. We recognize that these are challenging times for many individuals and hope to alleviate food insecurity among the Concordia Community.

Concordia Food Community
The recently-established Concordia Food Community, is a partnership between: the Concordia Food Coalition, the Concordia Farmer’s Market, Frigo Vert, the Hive Free Lunch / the Hive Cafe, the People’s Potato, and Zero Waste Concordia. With other food groups providing similar services, the Concordia Food Community has provided the HFLP with immense support during the planning phase of this program. As the Meals on Wheels Program grows and develops we intend to continue to collaborate with the Concordia Food Community in order to ensure we can reach as many Concordia students as possible.
Marche Commun is a non-profit organization that is working towards developing a food ordering and delivery platform (similar to FoodDora or UberEats), where all involved parties are compensated fairly for their services. With their help, we are able to efficiently receive and process orders which ensures all those registered will receive a meal basket. Check out their website for more information.
Moisson Montréal is a registered charity, who gathers food donations and basic products all year long, and re-distributes them, free of charge, to community organizations on the Island of Montreal. Their work allows us to operate and feed more students we would have otherwise had to turn away. For more information check out their website.
